WhatsApp Chat Theme to be released soon
Have you ever thought about customizing your WhatsApp chat screen entirely not just the chat background?
If yes, then you might be happy to know that WhatsApp may soon release a feature called “WhatsApp Chat Theme” that will let you change the chat screen in more ways than possible before.
According to WABetaInfo, this new feature was spotted in WhatsApp for iOS 24.20.71 version available on the App Store.
WhatsApp Chat Theme feature will have a few extra options for users to customize the chat screen including (may not limited to):
- Chat Colors: You will be able to change the colors of chat bubbles, the under-text area, and also the header space of the bubble.
- Chat Wallpaper: You will be able to further customize your chat screen with more options to play with the background area of your chats
While this doesn’t look too new or a different feature, it could be the basic building block for upcoming customizations that Meta may introduce in WhatsApp allowing users to further make their WhatsApp app their own.
The feature will be released first to iOS (iPhone) users and Android users later on.
The best part of the WhatsApp chat theme feature is that you can customize your chat screen for a particular chat and the other user you are messaging will not see your customizations.
This means you can play with your chats, but other users will never see your changes, making them have their own choices for the same thing.
This is like, you are seeing a chat screen all-red and the other person you are chatting with is using the default chat screen of WhatsApp.
Best, as on Messenger and Instagram DMs, we get to see that if one person changes the color, others also see that, and it is frustrating (at least to me).
However, we don’t know if we will be able to add custom wallpapers with this new feature (which I think we might be able to), we do know that there will be 22 wallpapers for chat backgrounds and 20 chat colors to choose from in a pre-made themes option.
