Alchemy Secures $31M Seed Funding
Alchemy, the innovative healthcare company that’s shaking up the pharmacy world, has just closed a whopping $31 million seed funding round.
The financing was led by Andreessen Horowitz’s Bio + Health team, with a star-studded roster of participants, including Earvin "Magic" Johnson, Sandberg Bernthal Venture Partners, Banc of California, and others.
The company is set to revolutionize the way clinics operate their pharmacy programs, with a special focus on HIV and Hepatitis C (HCV) patient populations.
Now, here's where things get interesting. Alchemy isn’t just about popping pills or refilling prescriptions. They’re building an entire ecosystem—physical, clinical, and digital—that empowers clinics to create and operate their own in-house pharmacy programs.
Peter Park, founder and Co-CEO of Alchemy said in press release:
"By bringing the clinic and the pharmacy into one location, we are providing unique solutions that meet the needs for HIV and HCV populations across the country."
It’s a game-changer for HIV communities, which, let's be honest, have been underserved for far too long.
Their first partnerships?
Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), STD clinics, and Ryan White clinics. Through their platform, Alchemy is helping clinics boost their pharmacy game by expanding patient reach, improving health outcomes, and even giving clinics’ bottom lines a little TLC.
Alchemy’s founders are no strangers to the healthcare battlefield, either. After spending nearly two decades in Africa developing the largest HIV access program, they’re bringing that hard-earned experience back to the States.
Fun fact:
- HIV medication adherence rates in Africa are actually better than in the U.S. Go figure! Alchemy’s mission is to cut the red tape and make pharmacy access easier for HIV and HCV patients across the country.
With this new funding, Alchemy is gearing up to launch pharmacy programs across 20 states, and they’re not stopping there. A mobile clinic program and a digital platform are also in the works, all aimed at making healthcare more accessible and efficient for vulnerable communities.
It looks like Alchemy is ready to mix up the pharmacy world—and we’re all here for it.
