Mexican Startup Koltin Secures $7.3M to Expand Senior Health Insurance

Koltin, A Mexican health insurance startup, has announced the funding round; the company has raised $7.3 million Series A funding round that was led by Left Lane Capital. According to the press release by the company, this new capital will help Koltin to continue offering affordable health insurance to the elderly in Mexico.

Koltin was established by Eduardo Ortiz and Carmen Rosillo as co-founders, and the company seeks to fill a niche market in Mexico City by providing health insurance solutions that cater to the elderly.

This is an insurance company whose business model integrates insurance coverage with care for Mexicans who are usually excluded by other insurance companies.

Eduardo Ortiz, Founder and CEO of Koltin said:

"Koltin members are already experiencing better health outcomes. In fact, 3 in 5 customers say that their quality of life has improved thanks to Koltin and over 75% would feel 'very disappointed' if they couldn't have access to Koltin anymore, Partnering with Left Lane Capital is an incredible opportunity for us to reach more and more families in Mexico, while continuing to innovate on our technology-driven care model."

Koltin has gained traction since its launch in 2022, attracting thousands of customers in its first year of operations.

Its success is attributed to its innovative care model, which includes virtual consultations, WhatsApp support, and in-person care when needed by insurance buyers.

This approach has led to improved health outcomes for Koltin's members, with many reporting a higher quality of life after registering with the company.

The new investment of $7.3M from Left Lane Capital will enable Koltin to reach more seniors across Mexico and continue developing its technology-driven care platform.

Rachel Schow, Vice President at Left Lane Capital, praised Koltin's approach, stating:

"Eduardo and the Koltin team are the first to offer a comprehensive solution for seniors in Mexico, combining tailored care plans from a dedicated clinical team with personalized insurance coverage."
