Apple to release new smartphones with OLED displays only
Have you ever heard of “Organic Light-Emitting Diode”?
Well, that’s OLED which is being used by almost every top smartphone brands like Samsung and Xiaomi, and still, some iPhones are coming with LCDs and only the high-priced devices are built with an OLED display.
Why OLEDs?
These displays provide better colors and sharper contrasts, and thus, they help to deliver high-definition videos in smartphones at a better level to make the end result look like you are seeing things naturally and not on a screen.
Besides this, it can also help reduce battery usage helping the device to improve battery drain issues.
China’s BOE Technology and South Korea’s LG Display are going to be Apple’s partners for delivering OLED displays in 2025 that will be used for upcoming iPhone SE models and may be in other devices too.
Japan’s Nikkei newspaper reported this on Tuesday and hasn’t shared the trusted sources.
Reuters reported that Apple’s previous partners Sharp and Japan Display for delivering LCDs will now have no more business relations with Apple as the company is going all-in for OLED displays for its all iPhone models and it has already brought OLEDs on the latest iPad Pro models too.
So, now every Apple device user will be able to use OLED displays.
