X Conference: Is X getting a 'Group Video Call' feature?
Yes, X is working on the X Conference feature.
This time not Elon Musk but an X employee “Chris Park” shared insider news that X is already testing a new feature called X Conference to launch group video calling soon.
He mentioned that the feature is already a strong alternative to Google Hangouts, Zoom, AWS Chime, and Microsoft Teams.
While the interface (to me) seems interesting and minimalist, this would be the first step of Elon Musk to make X an ‘everything app’ as he envisioned when he bought the platform for a whopping $44 billion just to take the company private and rename it from Twitter to X.

Since the acquisition, we have seen many ups and downs and a lot of new features such as a paid verified badge, Grok, hiding likes, X ad revenue sharing, AI news summaries, some search features, etc, but not any major feature that could make the X app to be an all-in-one platform.
However, if X Conference gets a rollout, it will definitely make X compete with giants like Meta and Zoom.
Still, a long way to go, as X is far behind what other social media giants are already offering for free to millions of users.
Apps such as WhatsApp, Telegram and Facebook’s Messenger are already allowing millions of people around the globe to make group video calls, audio calls, voice notes, file sharing, photos and video sharing and more will not let X win the game just with one core feature.
Elon Musk has to develop something that no other app is currently offering and make that thing the success of X.
