The service is currently offered in over 170 countries, and it enables users to listen to podcasts through their web browsers, thus, they do not need the desktop application at all, which is helpful for users of Windows laptops and other devices who have been waiting for this.

On the other hand, Apple is now directly a competition with other platforms offering services for web-based podcast players such as Podbay, Castbox, and Podurama to name a few.

This new web-based interface is available for shows and provides access to the Up Next queue, saved shows, and millions of podcasts as well as Top Charts available in the app.

Listeners can link their Apple accounts to listen to the queued episodes across devices, buy paid subscriptions, and follow new programs.

iOS users who also use Windows laptops and other devices such as Android-powered tablets and smartphones can now be able to access their podcasts on Apple Podcasts directly on a browser of their choice, isn't this a cool thing?

This update adds Apple Podcasts to the list of other content services such as Apple Music and Apple TV that have had web app versions for a long time.

It also puts Apple Podcasts in the same league as rivals Spotify and Amazon Music, which have had web-based podcast players for some time now.

This development should be warmly received by podcast listeners who do not want to download additional apps but at the same time, who want to have the full-fledged experience of podcasts on their laptop's speakers, not on AirPods.
