The iPhone 16 lineup may get better battery life
The iPhone 16 series is expected to see a large uplift in battery life, especially because of the increase in energy density according to Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst of the supply chain.

As we all have battery life problems with our iPhones these improvements in battery technology should enable the iPhone 16 models to either deliver the same battery life with a physically smaller battery or increase battery life with the same battery size as the previous models MacTrast reported.
One of the critical developments is that Apple has decided to house these new high-density batteries in stainless steel. This change is due to the fact that the more energy dense batteries produce more heat that has to be regulated.
Stainless steel is less efficient than aluminum in terms of heat dissipation; however, it is more durable and resistant to corrosion.
Also, the use of stainless steel for the casing will facilitate battery replacement, in compliance with new EU laws that require easy battery replacement in electronics Phonearena reported.
Another beneficiary of this technological change is Sunway, which is expected to provide stainless steel battery cases.
If the new battery design is going to be implemented on the iPhone 16 Pro Max successfully, then Apple may take this technology to all the iPhone models in the future.
All in all, all these developments are a major step forward in battery technology for Apple, as they can provide longer usage time, comply with new regulations, and keep the size of the battery inside the devices the same or even smaller.
Apple is expected to release the iPhone 16 series in the middle of September 2024 hopefully with more battery health than its predecessors.
