Here are the requirements for WhatsApp Companion Mode to work:

• You have to be a WhatsApp Beta tester, until it rolls out to the stable build.
• Android phone's WhatsApp version should be 2.22.24.18 or above than this.
• You must have two phones, both of them working on the beta build.

Set up and Use WhatsApp Companion Mode

After completion of the requirements to use WhatsApp Companion mode, follow the method described below to set up and use WhatsApp Companion Mode on two phones:

1. Make a fresh and new installation of WhatsApp on your other phone.
2. Now, tap the Agree and Continue button.
3. On next page where you are asked to add your phone number, click the three dotted icon from the top right corner of your screen.
4. From the pop-up menu, choose the option Link a Device. There you will see a QR code.
5. Now, open WhatsApp on your first phone, click the three dotted icon from the top right of your screen, then tap on the option Linked devices.
6. On the next page, click on Link a Device.
7. Now, verify your Pin or Biometric on your smartphone.
8. Then, scan the QR code on your second phone from your first phone.
9. Within a minute, your whole WhatsApp chat history will be copied to your second phone.

That's all, now you are able to use the same WhatsApp on both of your smartphones even the primary device may be offline.
