WhatsApp will stop working on these iPhone and iOS devices on 24 Oct 2022
Meta-owned WhatsApp is today started showing notifications that the app will stop working on different iOS devices including iPhone and Mac starting after 24 Oct 2022.
As WhatsApp has been doing this since the first release of its version, first they started ditching old Android OS-powered smartphones and then included old iOS software too.
Many iOS users will now have to update their software to continue using WhatsApp as iPhone 5 and iPhone 5c will no longer be able to run WhatsApp as Apple officially dropped the software support for these devices.

As WhatsApp dropping support on 24 Oct 2022 for these iOS devices:
- Any iOS device with iOS 10 or lower version
- Any iOS device with iOS 11 or lower version (update is required)
The instant messaging platform from Facebook (now Meta) is officially dropping support for old iPhone models running on iOS 10 or iOS 11 and asking users to upgrade their iPhones to the latest version of the OS.
Here’s how to get WhatsApp on iOS 10 and iOS 11 devices:
- Open the Settings app on the iPhone
- Tap on the General option
- Now tap on the Software update
- Download the latest iOS update
- Install it and enjoy WhatsApp
That’s how you can keep using WhatsApp on your old iPhones as it now requires installing the latest software from Apple.
So, if you are still using your favorite iOS 10, or iOS 11, it is the time to update to the latest version to keep using Whatsapp and other apps.
