What exactly is the KVPY Fellowship?
Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) is a national-level scholarship/Fellowship program in Basic Sciences. Every year, the Indian Institute of Sciences (IISc), Bangalore, conducts the KVPY Aptitude Test.
The fellowship program was established in 1999 by the Government of India's Department of Science and Technology (DST). Its goal is to inspire students to pursue scientific research professions. All qualified students are granted scholarships and contingency grants up to the pre-PhD level under the program. The KVPY 2021 examination will be held on November 7.
The application form was announced on exactly July 12, and the enrollment last date was from August 25 to September 6.
Due to the current circumstances caused by a coronavirus, KVPY eligibility has also been altered.

- The online application process for KVPY 2022 already began on July 12, 2022.
- Students in grades 11, 12, and first-year (basic science courses) are eligible to apply for the KVPY.
- Candidates must apply online at the KVPY IISc website.
- Candidates must join with valid contact details.
Eligibility Criteria 2022
For Stream SA
- Candidates in Class XI with a minimum of 75% (65% for SC/ST/PWD) in Math and Science courses in Class 10 are eligible.
- Scholars have chosen to support this stream and enrol in an undergraduate program in Basic Sciences (B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.S).
- Should get 60 percent (50 percent for SC/ST/PWD) in aggregate Science marks in the XII standard/(+2) Board Examination.
For Stream SX
- Students enrolling in XII Standard/Class 12 Science received 75 percent in B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.Sc.
- The fellowship will be implemented only when the students nominated under this stream enrol in an undergraduate program in Basic Sciences (B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.S).
- They should have obtained 60 percent (50 percent for SC/ST/PWD) total marks in Science subjects in the XII standard/(+2) Board Examination in Maths and Science.
For SB Stream
- Students enrolling in the first year of an undergraduate degree in Basic Sciences who received a minimum of 60% (50 percent for SC/ST/PWD) in Maths and Science courses (Physics/Chemistry/Biology) in the XII Standard Board Examination.
- In the first year final examination of B.Sc./B.S./B.Math./B.Stat./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.Sc.

- Mode: The KYPY aptitude test is a computer-based examination.
- The exam lasts 3 hours.
- Exam questions are of the multiple-choice variety.
- Question paper medium: The exam question paper is available in both English and Hindi.
- Sections: Each stream has two sections.
- Scheme of grading: In Part I, wrong answers are deducted -0.25 marks. In Part II, wrong answers are penalized 0.5 marks.
Syllabus
IISc Bangalore does not have a set KVPY syllabus. The KVPY exam is designed to assess candidates' analytical abilities and comprehension rather than their factual knowledge. Students therefore must master all themes in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology from grade 10, 12, and the first year of B.Sc., B.S., B.Stat., B.Math., International M.Sc., or M.S., based on the stream they have selected.
How to start to Prepare for KVPY 2022?

How to Register for the KVPY Exam?

- Read the instructions carefully, review the disclaimer, and then click the login button.
- Select the registration link on the login screen.
- Fill in your personal and academic information, as well as your preferred test centre.

- Pay the application cost for the KVPY.
Application cost
The application cost for the KVPY exam is Rs. 1250 for candidates from the General Category/OBC and Rs. 625 for candidates from the SC/ ST/ PWD.
Selection Procedure for KVPY 2022
