5 Ways to Enjoy Valentine’s Day on Your Own

We know that Valentine’s Day is typically a day to celebrate sweethearts and love, making it a day that many single people can’t stand. But, hey, who has room in their lives for that kind of hating. When you can’t beat them, join them! While you may not have a special someone, do something special for yourself on V-day. Take a look at these five ways you can make Valentine’s Day a day you enjoy, no matter what:
Buy yourself flowers
Your friends in relationships are posting pictures with their flowers and maybe you feel a bit of sadness. You want flowers, too. Honey, what’s stopping you? You can order your own Valentine’s Day flowers if you want to. Whether you love roses or daffodils are more your preference, order a bouquet of flowers to be delivered to your door on Valentine’s Day.
Plan a picnic with a friend
While restaurants may be booked to the brim on Valentine’s Day, you can still enjoy a special meal with a friend. Pack a basket full of your favorite snack foods and perhaps a bottle of your favorite beverage and find the park you both love most.
Enjoy your favorite jams and have a beautiful evening. In my opinion, romance can be something enjoyed alone, with friends, or with a significant other. Look for romance in the little things about life, like picnics in the park.
Make it a friendship day
If you recently went through a hard breakup, it may be hard for you to spend this day alone. That’s okay. Call up your friends and make a friendship day out of it. You can brunch with some friends in the morning, meet for a movie with others in the afternoon, and then enjoy some drinks with your besties at night.
Just because this day is typically a day to celebrate romantic love doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate the best kind of love: that of your closest friends.
Send out cards to your loved ones
Valentine’s Day is about love, so if you want to show your loved ones how much you care about them, use this day to do just that. You can send out sweet cards to each one of your friends or send a care package, especially for a friend you know is going through a hard time. Use a day that can be tough for some people to make your loved ones feel special.
Enjoy things you love, alone
One of the hardest parts about being alone on a day that celebrates love and partnership is that you may think you need someone else to enjoy life. The truth is that while there are beautiful things to share with others, there are also amazing experiences that you can have alone, especially when you live with emotional intelligence.
So, if Valentine’s Day is typically a tough one for you, consider enjoying it by doing things you love to do, even if you’re doing them alone. Whether you book an Airbnb in a lovely area of town to have a staycation or you go on a mountain bike ride because it’s what you love doing, there are plenty of ways to make V-day just another special day being the wonderful person you are.

In Conclusion
From spending time with friends to doing something that you love, there are many ways to enjoy this day that historically can be hard on singles. However, when you make it a day to look forward to, there’s nothing to be sad about. Whether you make someone else’s day with flowers and cards sent to their door or you spend it alone, Valentine’s Day can be a day that you enjoy!
