How to Hide Instagram Activity or Online Status Using Any Device
On Instagram by default, you are allowing your community of people that you follow or send DMs frequently to check when you were last active or when you are online/offline on the Instagram app. This is called "Activity Status" on Instagram and for other social media platforms such as WhatsApp is "Online" as well as for Messenger. For some reason, many people don't want to share their activity status with anyone and looking to hide it.
This is why Instagram allows you to disable this feature and hide your last active status from all of your Instagram family. The option that shows your online status to your contacts is called "Show Activity Status" on the Instagram app and website and you can easily toggle it off. How to Hide Instagram Activity Status on iPhone
If you are using an iPad, iPhone, or Macbook, you can easily hide your Instagram activity status by following these simple steps:
- Open the Instagram app on your iOS device.
- Tap on the Profile icon or DP (from the bottom right corner).
- Tap the Three Lines in the top right > tap Settings.
- Tap on the Privacy > Tap Activity Status.
- Tap the Toggle next to Activity Status to turn off your activity status.
How to Hide Instagram Activity Status on Mobile Browser
If you are on Android or any other OS-powered smartphone, you can still use any mobile browser such as Chrome, Opera, Firefox, or your default browser for hiding your Instagram activity status. Follow the simple steps:
- Open Instagram.com and log-in using any mobile browser.
- Tap on your profile picture (DP) in the bottom right.
- Tap on Settings in the top left.
- Tap Privacy and Security > tap to uncheck the box next to Show Activity Status.
How to Hide Instagram Activity Status on PC (laptop or computer)
If you are using a laptop, pc, or any normal computer-device, you can visit Instagram's official website and hide your online status from the Instagram app and website together:
- Open Instagram.com and login using any web browser.
- Click on your profile picture in the top right > Click on Settings.
- Click Privacy and Security > click to uncheck the box next to Show Activity Status.
NOTE: When you disable your activity status or hide it, you will not be able to see other's online visibility (activity status) also. So do it at your own risk (you can always re-enable it).
